Due to the economic impact of the Coronavirus, Chancellor Rishi Sunak announced earlier this week that mortgage holders struggling with being able to afford their mortgage payments, likely as a result of a reduction in their income, would be able to apply to their lenders for a mortgage payment holiday of up to three months. This decision gives lenders more flexibility than they normally would have to assist customers who are finding themselves in financial difficulties.
Lenders have started to publish information on how the plan will work and to assist we are sharing the following links for mortgage customers with Barclays, Natwest, Nationwide, Halifax and Santander. We plan to add to these as more lenders issue the applicable information.
