British Airways – Run Gatwick half marathon

At Resolve, the team knows that a healthy body is just as important as a healthy financial plan. And if we can help others while we are keeping fit or I should say trying to get fit, then we are very happy to do so. At the beginning of this year, Chris Lees started training 2/3 times a week for the British Airways Run Gatwick Half Marathon, to raise money for Shooting Star Chase – the Children’s Hospices.

Shooting Star Children’s Hospices are a leading children’s hospice charity who care for babies, children and young people with life-limiting conditions. They support families throughout Surrey and London and they rely on supporters help to keep the service running. So we are very happy to help where ever we can, last month the team at Resolve completed the Rough Runner Event, another sponsored event to raise money and awareness for the Hospices.

British Airways Run Gatwick Half Marathon

The Gatwick Half Marathon was on Sunday the 12 of May, the beautiful West Sussex and Surrey countryside on fully closed roads around Gatwick Airport.

There were other races at the event Run Gatwick too – There was a 5k run and a family run. It was, in fact, a complete day for the whole family with live music, an event village and food and drink festival

Over 2500 runners turned up for the half marathon alone.

The Half Marathon started in Southgate Park, through town to the airport, Charlwood and then back to Southgate Park.   This was a big challenge for Chris who has never run a half marathon before only having run in 10k races so this was more than double, but he had been training hard all year and was confident.
